Fill me in…

A little bit of love for #deep_house this past week is deserved. Big ups to @christian for giving us a track by Ant Orange called OMI. The Berlin resident bleeds influences from all over the board but house heads should feel at home with his music. The track dropped on the channel is called ‘OMI’, but a song called ‘Yesterday’ seems to be getting attention as well.

Omi

The UK group, Crazy P definitely has some #disco-_-funkyness in them. They’ve been around for 20 years but a track off of the semi-recently released album, Walk Dance Talk Sing, shows no signs of being out of date. This song embodies disco and is just as enjoyable as it is beautifully crafted.

What else is going on?

Sad news for Rdio lovers this past week as it sells off its technology assets to Pandora out of necessity. The branded streaming service will be discontinued, but it opens up the question of what Pandora will do now that it’s equipped with the framework for streaming capability. We’ll have to wait and see.

Pianist, producer and songwriter, Allen Troussaint has passed away at the age of 77. Unfortunately, it sometimes takes the sad news of an artist's’ passing for some to discover his or her music, but artists themselves were the first ones to make it aware that his music was impactful. Here’s a lovely jam from 1972 called ‘Soul Sister’:

Don’t sleep on…

Bosq is not brand new to the music scene and it’s easy to hear that by listening to his music. Dabbling in sounds that range from latin to disco, afro to raggae, etc. he put out his sophomore album entitled, Celestial Strut in mid-October and it’s is just as cool as the album artwork makes it seem. He’s signed to the eclectic and widely praised label, Ubiquity Records and there’s a very high chance you’ll love his stuff just as much as they do. Here are some visuals shot by Bosq himself that accompany his track, ‘Cumbia En Bahia’:
