Fill me in…

If you’re in the #electronic channel, you’ll know that Nicolas Jaar just dropped a new song for us entitled “Fight”. In true Jaar fashion, he doesn’t hold back any of his creativity in this song and anyone listening can get a feel for the amount of work he puts into his music. This isn’t the first time Jaar has been mentioned on The Needle, but to refresh, he’s a Chilean born producer who’s highly regarded in the #electronic music arena. You should probably get to know him if you don't already.

Nicolas Jaar - Fight

As the northern hemisphere gets ready for winter, Brazil prepares for summer and that usually means awesome music escapes from hibernation. There’s not a lot of us over in #brazilian, but that doesn’t stop the tunes from coming; one of which is a taster of the sounds that tend to set the summer scene in a country where music is known to fill the streets. Summer is a state of mind:

For those of us who appreciated the Gorillaz’ place in music more than the quick flashes of showcase, we’re in luck. It looks like they’re back recording music for a 2016 release. If you’re unfamiliar with the hands behind the cartoons, there’s a good movie that’ll give the backstory and hopefully a whole lot more respect than before.

A little bit sooner than next year is this Friday. And this Friday is when Neon Indian drops a follow-up to his 2011 album, Era Extraña. This one is called, VEGA INTL. Night School and looks promising based off of some interesting visuals that were just dropped.

Hit Parade

Don’t sleep on…

A group called Heiress out of Brooklyn. There’s not a ton of info about this group (or artist), but what we do know if that awesome music is to be found here. Smooth sounding pop accompanied by vocals that walk with the instrumentals of this track quite fittingly. Hear for yourself, decide for yourself...but don’t sleep on Heiress. Here’s their track, “Waste”:
