For the week of February 28, 2016

Fill me in…

#experimental music never felt so right until now. Presenting a song called “Nanca Mais Me Esquece” by Sensible Soccers from the north of Portugal. Their most recent album villa soledade was self-released towards the end of February and contains six other songs that blend very nicely with the original track that @pedronunes posted. You guys will enjoy this:

Over in #house, @mrdobelina put us on to some Leon Vynehall just released a little over a week ago. The UK native took layers to the next level with this song, called “Kiburu’s”, creating a sound that makes at least one dude feel “like [he’s] stepping into a psychedelic jungle rave”. If you feel like stepping into a psychedelic jungle rave, press play.

What else is going on?

Thanks to Kendrick, everyone’s ears were occupied with untitled unmastered tracks this past week. The collection of songs doesn’t disappoint and features, yet again, a wide variety of music that goes beyond just lyrics over beats. Not to mention, the production work by the 5-year-old son of Swizz Beats and Alicia Keys.

And when a full grown adult acts like a 5-year-old on local news? That happened last week too. Enter Ty Segall on Chicago’s WGN. The Muggers brought their A-game to the Chicago community and the rest of world can check it out here.

Don’t sleep on…

San Diego, CA and the music coming out of there. Specifically, TV Girl. In 2010, they began releasing tunes and eventually built up their way to their first full album, French Exit, self-released right after their manager dropped them. In sticking with independence, their most recent album, Who Really Cares, dropped on Feb. 26th and it’s awesome. S/O to Andrew Jervis @ Bandcamp for showcasing this in their Bandcamp weekly. Here’s “Cigarettes out the Window”:
